I’ve been doing my best to incorporate more personal narrative into my reviews. What better place to start than my review of Sonic Life by Thurston Moore?
Moore’s early years in New York going to see his heroes Patti Smith, the Ramones, and the like during their club days reminded me of my own similar period in Tempe, going to see the Gin Blossoms or Dead Hot Workshop at Long Wong’s or the Sun Club with 100 or so other devoted followers in attendance. Feel free to put on your gas station attendant shirts and Chuck Taylors as you read my review of Moore’s Sonic Life, which just came out at Book and Film Globe.
Also, thank goodness I was cool when I was 21.

Ha! At least I didn’t say Chick Taylors!
Thanks for the review. I will put it on my reading list. I don't really know much about Sonic Youth, just the music
