New Nonfiction Piece at The Spectator: What's Happened to the Trade Paperback?
Plus More Portland Reading Details
The reading featuring me and the members my writers’ group the Whom is quickly approaching! The date doubles as the official book release of My Iliad Odyssey.
As revealed above, the reading is on Thursday, 11/20, from 6:30-8:30 PM at Portland’s Taborspace in the Copeland Commons room. Readings start at 7 PM. It’s totally free. Please let me know if you plan to attend.
Also, a piece on my love of the trade paperback recently appeared at the Spectator, which is the oldest surviving magazine in the world.
I find paperbacks to be the best reading experience that ever existed, but a quick survey of my writer friends revealed that I’m more or less alone.
One reads only library books in hardback.
Another reads library books and ebooks.
A third prefers library books, ebooks, and audiobooks.
It took a fourth to finally mention the trade paperback, and she prefers the form only because it’s cheaper than the hardback.
