New Album - The Brightness of an Ordinary Star - Out Now!
Hi, folks.
Bret Hartley, Kevin Leahy, and I have amassed ten new tracks for your listening pleasure. The album is called The Brightness of an Ordinary Star, and it's about layoffs and loss and problematic rock bands. It's also about old friends and freelance gigs and long weekends at the beach. But it's mostly about ordinary stars and how they manage to shine despite being just another floating dot in the sea of a galaxy. You can buy and download the album now.
This is our fourth album together as a threesome, and second where the group has split songwriting duties. I love writing like this. Let Bret and Kevin worry about the music. I write the lyrics and sing them, arrange a little, maybe try a hotshot bass lick if I can hear one. That’s about it. I couldn’t me more thrilled with the results, and I can’t wait to share them with you. Buy it now!
To celebrate the release of the album, I have a solo acoustic show scheduled for the official release date, Friday, May 3rd, at 5 PM PST. I will play at least one song from the new album, as well as many of your old favorites. It’s the perfect way to start the Cinco de Mayo weekend! RSVP now! I really enjoy playing these shows, and I hope to do one a month for the foreseeable future. If you want to be notified of each show, all you have to do is follow me on Facebook or Bandcamp.
Also, if you Spotify, you can go there to hear all of The Brightness of an Ordinary Star or any album in my catalog! There’s an Art Edwards Radio station!
You can also listen to the album at YouTube! I was shocked to see that one song from the album, “Mr. Moonbeam,” already had 59 plays there. How did that happen in 24 hours? (No, it wasn’t me.)
That said, we really appreciate your purchase of the album at Bandcamp. Bret, Kevin, and I split everything three ways, and we get genuinely buoyed by your support in this way. We’ve never made money from any of these albums, but it’s never been about money. We’re happy to have you listen to the songs in any way that makes sense for you, but don’t hesitate to know that your purchase matters. Buy now! Your money goes to support future music from us!
So, the album is out, there’s an online acoustic show on May 3rd, and you can listen to the album pretty much everywhere.
Album releases are fun, but they’re more fun when you buy now!
